According to data released by Israel, a minimum of 98 detainees from Palestine have died while in custody beginning in October 2023. A rights monitoring body operating from Israel has reported that the actual number is probably significantly higher, due to numerous of unaccounted for detainees originating in Gaza.

Study Results

“In spite of this large quantity of deaths, throughout the conflict not a single person has been detained,” the spokesperson stated. “There have been no charges over any fatality.

“While these policies continue to be enforced, every Palestinian in detention is in danger, including the physically well individuals, also the juveniles who have no medical issues.”

High-Profile Cases

Several casualties in detention have been publicly known, including a senior hospital director who perished in confinement after a third of a year in custody.
