I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
