Just as bad weather swept through the northwest the prior day, the home side swept United away at the their home ground. The Red Devils' capacity to balance league and continental football with a small squad has been a widely debated issue since they secured entry to the UCL. Considering the schedule, it always felt like this was the week that would fully examine this fortitude. Regrettably for the visitors, they seemed weary from start to finish, the landmark win against the French side clearly having left its mark.

Team Changes

The clearest change came from Skinner at the half-time as Melvine Malard came on for Elisabeth Terland but by this time it was too late to shift the momentum of the contest.
